About Us With the experience of a child and whole family born and growing up around the forest of Borneo, Especially In the area of Tanjung Putting National park, Our Family have been contributing a strong spirit and a high dedication to this park. My uncle Mr.Ahmad and aunt Mrs. Bariah ( Read “REFLECTION OF EDEN” book by DR.Birute MF. Galdikas ) who know as a first family who work as staff for the famous Orangutan researcher Dr.Birute Mf. Galdikas, my father who built her a jetty and walkway at camp Leaky 1975, just four years after she started her research there and reconstructing a new jetty and tower for the autobiography film called “Reflection of Eden”, My Grandfather helping with her out boat and even a piece of land belong to our great grand parent has donated to include in the park area. The deep relationship of our family with Tanjung Putting National Park and the forest around support us to continuously efforts in protecting, conserving our and encourage our local peoples to feel owning their forest and the area where we belong, and “ ECO-TOURISM” is the answer.
Based on the above history than in 1993 we gathering young poeples around our forest and national park to establish a small team in tourism activities which including klotok/ Boat service,jungle trekker,guide,local naturalist,villagers, fisherman,illegal loggers who than stop doing forest exploatation and some educated and professional young poeples.Later we known as pionnering team for local community development in tourism around Tanjung puting National park. Our experience,dedication, all great appreciation from peoples around the world who ever became our clients and our responsibility to our nature and peoples than our team establish this small Local Tours- travel service (based on Eco-tourism guidline) to provide you the truly experience to orangutan and Kalimantan ecosystem,flora and fauna. My family had a wonderful time at Tanjung Puting National Park and we wish to thank Herry, and the Rimba orangutan eco-lodge staff as well as Alan and Meryl for our successful trip. We saw big Tom and all the girls at camp leakey. We especially loved the more nervous wild male orangutan at the Harapan feeding site. He was special. We saw many proboscis and macaques. How amazing is this National Park! I cant wait to get to the other lodges at Way Kambas and the new siamang lodge. What a trip.
